LEILOSOC® as a certified and trusted brand, and always at the forefront of European growth, works daily to mitigate wage inequalities.
It applies strategies and measures to promote equal pay among employees, focusing not on gender, but on professional growth, through the development of guidance tools between teams.
The wage gap between women and men in Portugal continues to be a serious problem, with structural causes that need to be addressed. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), women and men have the right to receive equal pay for work of equal value, yet it acknowledges that the wage gap is a persistent and universal problem and that since women entered the labor market, they have generally received lower pay than men.
Although this wage gap has been decreasing in Portugal over the last few years (it went from 18.4% in 2012 to 13.3% in 2020), the decrease has been very slow and far below the intended goals. Therefore, it is essential for the entire society and all organizations to mobilize and commit to promoting Equality between Women and Men in the Labor Market, particularly in terms of remuneration.
