Discover the advantages of investing in the Island of Madeira, and in particular in the picturesque village of Camacha.

Camacha, A Picturesque Village

The Camacha parish is a place full of history and customs. Belonging to the municipality of Santa Cruz, it enjoys the unique characteristics of island rural life.

Peaceful and picturesque, Camacha keeps many of its old customs and traditions alive. Thus, over the centuries, there have been industries that have been associated with this parish from an early stage. Crafts, and in particular wickerwork, contributed greatly to the establishment of a unique industry in the world and, in the golden age of production, the parish was even talked about all over the world, exporting beautiful and intricate wicker pieces to various continents.

Since the mid-19th century, the wicker industry has had enormous importance on the island of Madeira, with the Camacha parish being an inescapable reference of this legacy and continuing to be the region of the island that produces the most wicker crafts. It is believed that this craft was brought to Madeira by the British.

In Camacha, in addition to culture, one also lives in Nature. The Levada da Serra do Faial crosses the entire parish, making it possible to walk pleasant paths in communion with the local fauna and flora.

Invest in the Island of Madeira. Why?

The Island of Madeira is one of the most sought-after destinations for investment in Europe, as it is considered a safe destination in terms of crime, with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean! The island has a diversity of natural beauty that allows anyone to find their piece of paradise.

The island's global positioning began with sugar production in 1480. In the 1490s, Madeira surpassed Cyprus as a sugar producer. Thanks to sugarcane, adventurers and merchants from all over Europe, especially Italians, Basques, Catalans, and Flemings, arrived on the island.

After sugar production, which is still relevant to the island's agriculture and gastronomy, came wine production. It was with Madeira wine that the Founding Fathers toasted the independence of the USA.

Today, the island's international scene is reflected in the Madeira International Business Centre, the tourism sector, and expatriates (and digital nomads), the latter being responsible for 1.4 million tourists annually and 3.7% of the island's resident population, respectively.

Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport in Madeira offers direct flights to various and important European cities, such as London, Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, and Porto. These connections allow high mobility for those who wish to invest in Madeira or work from the island.
