ASSET VALUE - WHAT IS IT?
Asset Value is the value assigned to each property or land for tax purposes, expressing the real value of a property in a given year.

The Tax Asset Value (VPT) is the value assigned to each property or land for tax purposes, expressing the real value of a property in a given year. It can be consulted on the Tax Portal and in the Property Booklet.
The Tax Asset Value is part of the calculation of the IMI (Municipal Property Tax), but it is not its only tax. It is also used to calculate the IMT (Municipal Tax on Onerous Property Transfers) and the Stamp Duty (IS). The IMT applies to onerous transfers of property rights within Portuguese territory. Stamp Duty applies to all consumption acts that are not subject to VAT.
