DOUROMEL INSOLVENCY AUCTION FOR 449 THOUSAND EUROS

The Electronic Auction for the insolvency of Douromel – Fábrica de Confeitaria Lda (4705/17.9T8VIS) is accepting bids until November 15, 2024 here.

The Complete Industrial Unit for sale consists of a warehouse and a construction plot, located in the Zona Industrial das Aveiras, in Tabuaço, and movable assets supporting the food industry. These assets are valued, in total, at 444,100.00 € (Base Sale Value).

With a total area of 8,851.00 m² and a covered area of 2,800.00 m², the industrial warehouse is distributed over 3 floors. In turn, the construction plot has a total area of 764.00 m². The two Douromel properties can be acquired together for € 410,000.00 (Base Sale Value).

These properties benefit from exemption from Municipal Tax on Onerous Real Estate Transfers (IMT) and Stamp Duty, under Article No. 270, Nos. 1 and 2 of the Insolvency and Business Recovery Code (CIRE).

Regarding movable assets, the machines and equipment for the food industry are offered to the market in a single lot and are valued at € 34,100.00 (Base Sale Value). Specifically:

• Box strapping machines, heat sealer, sprayer, capsule inserter, fig chopper, cover sealer, pneumatic pumpkin cutter, fruit washer, plastic sealer, vegetable washer, shredder and slicer;
• Equipment: stainless steel tank with a capacity of approximately 10,000 liters and pump, 22 fiber brine tanks, stainless steel condensate tank with a capacity of approximately 8,000 liters, boiler with a capacity of 18,000 liters and 4,000Kg/h, syrup transfer pump, among others.

Four light passenger and goods vehicles will also be put up for auction, with the brands Toyota, Volkswagen, Nissan and Renault, which are available to receive offers exclusively lot by lot.

About Douromel

Founded in 1991, Douromel was a company based in the municipality of Tabuaço, specialized in the production of candied fruits, industrial sweets and confectionery products. In 2011, candied fruits represented 80% of the turnover of this Tabuaço factory, which produced more than a thousand tons of confectioned fruits annually.

In 2012, together with the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), it launched a “healthy” king cake, made with candied fruit without sucrose (sugar), using other less caloric sweeteners, incorporated with dietary fibers. From this initiative and partnership, the gourmet method for candied chestnuts without sucrose was developed, designated as “Marron Glacé Light”, which intended to produce and export (from start to finish of the production process) Marron Glacé in a Light version.
